Nick gets surgery today

Nick is getting his surgery today, and I'll pick him up and head home tomorrow . He has a broken shoulder and I had to bring him to Calgary for his surgery. Thankfully I got in to Fish Creek vet where I only had to pay about $1500 compared to the $3500 it would have cost at the specialist. I was really worried but I felt very comfortable leaving him there. Now, 4 weeks of only 5-10 minute walks per day, no running, playing, going up or down stairs....that will be fun. Then we x-ray him again to see how it's healed. Since he's young, 5 months, he should heal fast, but there's still no telling if it will affect his growth at all really. I think he'll probably have somewhat of a limp, but mostly be ok. Probably not going to be a showdog like we were hoping, but oh well, as long as he's happy. He's such a good boy and we love him.
